Joining the Gear Research Institute’s Board of Trustees is Mr. Thomas Doubts of General Electric-Aviation. He is the tenth member of the Board. The Institute’s by-laws were amended, by a vote of the membership, to re-constitute the board with four members from the Institute’s membership. This move was to give greater representation to the current and prior sponsors of the Institute. Tom is a gear specialist working at GE Aviation with over 36 years drive systems design and analysis experience. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from Drexel University. Tom has worked production problem resolution, has held leadership positions in gear research activities and has been an active member of the Gear Research Institute’s Aerospace Bloc steering committee since its inception in 1986.
